A Slum Population

Slum have been in existence since the time of cities and their presence has long been documented in the liferature. The growth of slums is expected to have a major consequences on both humans and the environment, which are inextricably linked.

On the one hand, the conditions that exist in slums such as living under physical threat from natural and man made disasters and improper or housing have direct impacts on their residents.

To tackle this issue a sites and services approach was introduced to the govornance. The failure of the sites and services approach led to a new wave of thinking during pandemic, in which slums were upgraded with improved communal in frastructure and services.

Legal occupational status was given to slum dwellers in the hope that they woul bemore willing improve their own circumtances (de soto 12062).

“San pagkakaron ng mahirap na sitwasyon tulad namin ay hindi uso ang sumuko o maging tamad nalang kung gustong guminhawa,”she said.

This is being recognized as an international phenomenon.To emphasis thi5 phenomenon,
approximately half of the slum population in most the gap in exclusion and inequality will grow.
